The entire Hanuman Chalisa, forty verses, illustrated panel by panel across a single painting. Every chaupai has its scene. Hanuman carrying the Sanjeevani mountain. The burning of Lanka. The encounter with Surasa. Rama enthroned at Ayodhya. The defeat of demons. The granting of boons. Each verse sits beside its illustration, the text and the image reading together the way the Phad tradition always intended.
Phad is the oldest narrative painting tradition in India. The paintings were originally created as portable temples, carried by the Bhopa storytelling priests of Rajasthan who would unroll them at night, light a lamp before them, and sing the story while their listeners followed the painted scenes. The Hanuman Chalisa Phad carries all of that performance history inside it. It is not a decorative painting. It is a complete act of devotion in visual form.
Painted in the classical Phad palette. Ivory ground, deep red border, black floral outer frame. Figures in yellow-ochre and saffron, foliage in green, demons and battle scenes in deep brown and black. Hanuman appears throughout, recognisable by his form, his colour, and the scale the painter gives him in every scene where he is the hero. At the centre of the composition, a golden mandapa holds the enthroned presiding deity, anchoring the Chalisa around a single devotional focal point.
Produced as a museum-grade archival print on heavyweight 310 GSM cotton paper. Pigment inks rated for 100+ years of fade resistance. The fine line work of the original Phad, including the text panels and the individual figure details, is preserved with archival fidelity.
Best placed in a pooja room as the primary devotional piece where the entire Chalisa can be read and referenced. Equally suited to a meditation room, a study wall, or as the anchor of a gallery wall dedicated to Hanuman art. The red and ivory palette holds strongly against cream, lime-washed, and warm wood interiors.
This is not a poster of the Hanuman Chalisa. It is a complete illustrated scripture, painted in one of India's oldest living art traditions, produced to museum standard.
Available in sizes from 8x12 to 30x40 inches. Framing optional.
Choose your size and bring the Chalisa home.

What is Phad painting?
Phad is a narrative painting tradition from Rajasthan, historically used by Bhopa priests as portable temples. The paintings illustrate complete devotional texts or stories, with each scene corresponding to a verse or episode. It is one of the oldest living folk art traditions in India.
Does this painting show all forty verses of the Hanuman Chalisa?
Yes. The painting illustrates each chaupai of the Hanuman Chalisa with its corresponding scene, arranged across the full composition with the text panel beside each illustration.
Is this an archival quality print?

Framing is offered as an add-on in select finishes. Choose framed or unframed at checkout. Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube.
Can I order a large size for my pooja room?
