Yes. Our scans capture every nuance of the original hand-painted work.
Paper or canvas—which one should I pick?
Paper is smooth and matte. Canvas has texture and depth. Both are archival.
How long will it last?
With proper care, 80–100 years. Trusted by museums worldwide.
Is framing available?
Yes. We offer framing in wood, metal, or fiber on request.
A sky of devotion, counted in hundreds.
This is one of the most visually arresting compositions in our entire collection. Against a deep indigo blue field, hundreds of miniature white stupas are arranged in an endless repeating grid — like stars in a sacred night sky. At their centre rises a golden stupa of elaborate design, within which sits Ushnishavijaya, the white multi-armed goddess of long life, purification, and liberation from the cycle of rebirth.
The effect is hypnotic. The eye is drawn first to the luminous central stupa, then pulled outward into the seemingly infinite field of smaller stupas that surround it in every direction. It is a meditation painted — a visual experience of vastness, repetition, and the multiplied power of sacred architecture.
Ushnishavijaya (known as Namgyalma in Tibetan) is one of the three long-life deities in Vajrayana Buddhism. She is white-bodied with multiple arms holding sacred implements — the vajra, arrow, lotus, and vessel of amrita — each symbolising a different aspect of her power to purify karma, extend life, and guide beings toward liberation. Her placement within the stupa is significant: the stupa itself is a symbol of the enlightened mind, and she resides at its heart.
The row of seated Buddhas and deities across the top represents the enlightened lineage. The narrative panels at the bottom depict offering scenes and protector deities. The gold silk brocade mounting visible at the edges tells us this is an antique piece preserved in its original scroll format — a rare and precious survival.
Why this piece is extraordinary:
∙ Visually unlike anything else — the hundreds of tiny white stupas against deep indigo create an almost cosmic, starfield-like pattern
∙ Rare iconography — Ushnishavijaya within a stupa is an uncommon and highly auspicious composition
∙ Strong contemporary graphic appeal — the geometric repetition and indigo-white colour contrast work powerfully in modern interiors
∙ Antique provenance — the visible gold brocade mounting indicates significant age and careful preservation
∙ Commanding presence at large format — this piece becomes immersive and meditative when printed large
Understanding the Stupa:
In Buddhist tradition, the stupa is a sacred architectural form representing the enlightened mind of a Buddha. Circumambulating or even viewing a stupa is believed to generate merit and purify negative karma. A painting containing hundreds of stupas multiplies this benefit — it is an act of devotion in visual form.
